Peter’s roles for Sporting Loughborough F.C. are as the Club Chairman, FA Accreditation Officer, Inclusive Director plus the Adult Welfare Officer and Manager of the Men's Saturday Squad.


As FA Accreditation Officer Peter ensures ALL staff are compliant with the regulations set out by the FA to ensure that the club achieves the FA Accreditation status every season. The FA  accreditation is for Clubs which are proud to be the places people want to play and enjoy grassroots football. The programme aims to raise standards in grassroots football, support the development of Clubs and Leagues as well as to recognise and reward commitment and achievement.


Pete started the Inclusive Team who train on a saturday morning and play in tournaments covering all age groups. He is passionate about this as the ONLY club in Loughborough to offer this facility to players who have otherwise been excluded or ignored as able to play football


Pete is also responsible as the Adult Welfare Officer which is a requirement if you have adult teams within your club structure. His role extends to managing the successful Saturday adult men's squad who play on a saturday 2pm Kick off


As Club Chairman Peter’s roles and responsibilities are:


  • To agree agenda and Chair the committee meetings and AGM & assist the Secretary to produce the agendas and head the Committee in making decisions for the benefit of the whole club including disciplinary matters.
  • Coordinating fund-raising events & ensure events and activities are properly licensed with local authorities.
  • Promoting The FA’s RESPECT Programme and helping to develop best practice processes. Inform parents / spectators of values and get them to sign up to the RESPECT codes.
  • Ensure all coaches, team managers, first aiders/medics to complete The FA’s Safeguarding Children Workshop with CWO & ensure compliance with Enhanced CRB checks through The FA CRB Unit for those who require one.
  • Organising an end of year event & Christmas function with other Primary Committee members.
  • To raise the profile of the club in the local community & to be available to talk to local media and Produce general interest stories about the club for the local press.


Peter also has an active Talent Scout qualification and is available to look at potential players from a scouting perspective
